Every character has a Trion Rating. Trion is an energy source used to power the triggers inspired by Neighbor technology. Within the world trigger universe, it is the trion gland that produces this biological power. Each individual is unique in their capacity, but Border has devised a rating system used to represent all the ranges.

The Cube’s side-length uses an equation like this: 2 * log{base 1.5}(X + 1), X being the Trion rating. When it is cubed, you get a Trion capacity related to volume that is non-linear. Don’t worry about the equation, a table will be provided with Trion capacity ranges for Trion ratings. The numbers represent a cubic centimeter capacity.

trion-range

During character creation, a value was assigned to the Trion parameter. Now to determine the exact capacity of the character, take the minimum volume for that rating and add the results of the following dice: + 3d4 + 3d6 + 3d8 + 3d10 + 3d12 + 3d20. This is a range from 18 to 180.

If the final result pushes the capacity into a higher Rating, then that is the new Rating for the character. This will only happen for Trion Ratings 1, 2, and 3; and it will only boost them by 1 rating. All other Ratings will find the final within the Range. This is the only random element included in character creation.

But what to do with these numbers? These numbers, as stated previously, represent a volumetric capacity of Trion. Each time a character summons a trigger, like a kogetsu, it uses trion. The amount it uses is determined by the volume of the trigger. To form the trigger out of trion, the same volume of space that the trigger occupies must be used from the available Trion Capacity. The activation costs for the various triggers will be included in the post on Trion Consumption.
